Why We Work Here
The suggested site has been degraded and deforested due to forest pests during 2015-2026. Large portions of forests have been affected by the forest pest, causing huge loss of forest land around Ulaanbaatar. As desertification exacerbates through climate change and further forest loss in Mongolia, which is not only affecting Mongolia’s climate and environmental conditions, but also neighboring countries.
How we work here
The Forestry Agency of Mongolia will work with the community members residing near the project site to restore the area and make Ulaanbaatar city greener.
Project Impact
Restoring Mongolia’s forest land will contribute to the national greening program of ‘1 billion tree restoration campaign’ in Mongolia, overall contributing to a greener east part of Asia.
